What to Look for When Buying Battle Ropes

If you will be using these indoors you want to make sure you have enough space. So you’ll need a room which is at least 20 feet long to fit the smallest rope which is 30 feet long. Divided by 2 you get 15 feet of rope and on top of that, you will probably need at least 5 more feet to move around.
So if you don’t have at least 20 feet from one side of your room to the other, you can’t really use any battle rope.
The size of the rope will determine its weight, hence the intensity of the workout. Here are the common sizes:

However, if you have less space in your home gym you might want to go with the 30’.
The handles are long enough and will allow you to get a solid grip on this battle rope. The texture of the handles feel just right and it’s not slippery, even if you get sweaty hands.
The Poly Dacron doesn’t fray out too easily. If you really slam it hard there will definitely be some bits and pieces left on the floor. But that’s pretty normal in all battle ropes when you use them a lot.
All in all, it looks like a study, heavy-duty battle rope which you will be using for a long time. We would’ve liked to see it coming with a bag or strap to carry it around, but unfortunately, that’s not included.
#3 NexPro Battle Rope
The NexPro is a lighter battle rope as it comes in just 1.5” x 30’/40’/50’. So if you want a more intense workout you will need to get the 50 feet one. But you will need the extra space obviously.
The rope is made out of 100% Poly Dacron material which doesn’t really do such a great job at keeping it from faying. Especially if you are using it on hard surfaces. On top of that, there’s no cover to keep it all together. So you are very likely to get bits and pieces of it on the floor. If you can, use it on softer surfaces such as mats or gym flooring.
One thing we liked is that it comes will a small sleeve at the anchor point. That will reduce the friction and it will make this battle rope live longer. Speaking of the anchor, you will need to buy one separately as it is not included in the package.
The handles are pretty good. Long enough and they have a good grip, so no issues here.
#4 Garage Fit Battle Rope
This one comes in 1.5” x 30’/40’/50’ and 2” x 30’/40’/50’, so you are covered regardless of how advanced you are or how intense you want to train.
As all the above it is made out of Poly Dacron material which seems to be very well put together. There will be very little faying if you are using it on smoother surfaces.
At the anchor point if has a 600D sleeve which will prevent it from tearing apart over time. The package also includes the anchor which is actually just a strap with a hook. So you will still need something to attach it too.
The handles are a little bit slippery though, so you don’t get a really good grip. Maybe use gloves as well. Additionally, the handles are not very well stitched to the rope, so they might come off over time.
One particular thing that we liked about the Garage Fit battle rope is the design. It comes in a variety of different colors which look really cool when you’re using it.

Lastly but not least, we have the Zeny battle rope which gives you all the sizing options you will need: 1.5” x 30’/40’/50’ and 2” x 30’/40’/50’.
The Poly Dacron material will fray a little bit faster than you would want it too. Not using it on concrete will make it last longer. Several users reported this battle rope to be a bit stiff, so maybe go with the 1.5” instead of the 2” if you want to avoid that problem. This way you will not have to wait to break it in.
You will get the 600D Oxford sleeve protect, but you will need to buy an anchor separately.
The handles are really good, you will get a solid grip, so they really nailed it from this point of view. All in all, if you use it on softer surfaces you should be fine with the Zeny battle rope.
There are definitely plenty of options to choose from. At the end of the day, it’s a matter of personal preference and personal needs.
